I was given my first camera at 16 and kept the settings on auto. I wanted to keep the memories of my travels in the form of a photograph, whether it be a good photo or not. I grew enamoured by the capability of this power to capture the places I had been and wanted to tie this with my creative ambitions.
At 18 I was given my first DSLR camera by Christopher Bishop, a brilliant photographer. It was at this point I started to take photography more seriously. From here, I started to learn the fundamental principles of photography by shooting on manual as well as reading books on photography such as Henry Carroll's series which gave me a brilliant introduction on the possibilities of photography. At the same time, I was determined to put these learned skills to the test whilst in-cooperating creative control into my work.
I moved to Leeds shortly after where I met a plethora of creative like-minded people. I began photographing bands, architecture, people and anything which caught my eye. The next steps in my professional photography career will entail earning a degree to further my knowledge, understanding and abilities. I'm looking forward to the next steps and the opportunity to meet new people during this endeavour.
